Stable, growing restaurant franchisee located in Morgan City, LA is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will play a critical role in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will be responsible for month-end and year-end close processes, assisting in preparing financial statements

Responsibilities

1. Daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and accounts payable responsibilities, and cash monitoring
2. Month-end and year-end close processes and workpapers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
3. Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies, providing insightful explanations
4. Assist with budgeting
5. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
6. Assist with external audits and tax filings

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Preferred
2. 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
6. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
