Schedule: Condensed Weekend schedule running Friday mornings to Sunday late afternoon
Location: East Vally, Mesa Area
About the Role:
Youth Mental Health Counselor wanted for At Risk Youth Weekend Retreat Programs. Join our team in providing a transformative three-day program every weekend that empowers kids through, exploratory learning, life skills, therapeutic activities, and a weekend of fun! On the job, you'll help create a safe and supportive environment where youth and adolescents can grow, learn, and build emotional resilience. Under the guidance of our compassionate program leads, you'll participate in implementing goal-focused counseling and treatments to help kids thrive. This is a great entry level position for people with a passion for the healthy development of youth and adolescents. Age range 12-17
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Behavioral health experience (preferred).,
- Persons with related and lived experience and students encouraged to apply
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license,
- Able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card and clear MVD Report.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Group Counseling: Lead engaging group sessions to promote emotional expression and peer support.
- Support Individual Development: Assist children and youth in developing skills related to task completion, relationship management, and emotional regulation.
- Implement Treatment Plans: Follow clinician-informed treatment plans to ensure each child's unique needs are addressed.
- Foster Therapeutic Relationships: Build strong, trusting relationships with participants to create a safe and supportive atmosphere.
- Participate in Activities: Organize and participate in meals, recreational activities, and outings, enhancing the communal experience.
- Provide In Vivo Opportunities: Encourage real-time application of skills in everyday situations, helping participants practice and reinforce their learning.
- Travel with Participants: Ensure safe and supportive transportation to and from the retreat location, fostering a sense of camaraderie among staff and participants.
- Documentation: Ability to write clear and concise progress notes depicting progress in treatment

Physical requirements:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, and grasping.
- Lift and carry up to approximately 30 pounds.
- Able to drive safely, including 12 passenger vans.
- Exposure to Inclement weather, Heat and Cold
- Able to implement non-violent physical emergency safety response
