Job Summary
The Teardown Technician is responsible for disassembling waffle irons and other equipment used in production. This role involves dismantling machinery and components according to established procedures, ensuring that all parts are carefully removed and inspected for cleaning, maintenance, or repair purposes. The Teardown Technician plays a critical role in supporting the operational efficiency and maintenance of equipment within the production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Equipment Disassembly:
- Disassemble waffle irons and related equipment following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Remove parts and components systematically to facilitate cleaning, inspection, or repair.
Cleaning and Inspection:
- Clean disassembled parts thoroughly using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
- Inspect parts for wear, damage, or signs of malfunction, reporting any issues to the Operations Manager.
Maintenance Support:
- Assist maintenance technicians in identifying and troubleshooting equipment issues during teardown processes.
- Support maintenance activities by providing detailed observations and documentation of equipment condition.
Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of disassembled parts and components.
- Update inventory systems to track availability and condition of dismantled equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during teardown activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to equipment maintenance and safety.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to coordinate teardown schedules and priorities.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of teardown tasks.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in equipment maintenance or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in equipment teardown or maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with mechanical tools and equipment used in disassembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
