Logistics Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

STRATEGY:

1. Develop, lead, and direct the B2B domestic Supply Chain including setting the vision and standards that are aligned with company mission, goals and objectives, develop and maintain standard operating procedures, direct the function, and lead the major functions inherent within scope of responsibility.
2. Build strong alliances up, down, across and outside the organization that will enable an industry leading internally managed supply chain.
3. Develop and implement best in class end-to-end supply chain strategies and processes.
4. Continuously evaluate all aspects of operations to identify opportunities to optimize cost, deliver P&L savings and fund improvements in the supply chain.

OPERATIONS:

1. Establish and maintain logistics service provider relationships including performance accountability and rate negotiations.
2. Manage both company-operated and third-party transportation, focusing on compliance, performance, carrier management, and optimizing fleet effectiveness.
3. Develop strategies to reduce shipping costs and enhance service levels. Oversee relationships with third-party vendors to ensure seamless partnerships.
4. Ensure effective metrics are in place to measure supply chain performance, including supplier performance, inventory, delivery, and procurement metrics.
5. Utilize tools to monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement.
6. Identify areas where the company can improve its competitive position through technology, flexibility, and negotiated relationships.
7. Evaluate and adapt both the short and long-term operating plans to support the company’s growth, creating a roadmap of processes, technology and other continuous improvement initiatives with supporting ROI that enable and scale the strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience working with and managing Third Party Logistics.
3. Proven success in:
4. Establishing and growing a 3PL roster
5. Leading and developing high performing cross functional teams
6. Delivering best in class business results
7. Familiarity with carrier rate negotiations and third-party resolution management
8. Established network of contacts within respective industries.
