When you are part of our team, you do work that matters! Teachers at our Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Centers are at the heart of what we do – caring for and educating young children and helping them learn and grow! Joining the Luthercare for Kids team can be a rewarding career choice for individuals who are passionate about building a strong foundation for children and guiding them socially, emotionally, and academically.
The need for childcare in our area has never been greater, and parents are struggling to find care for their children. In order to meet this need and serve more children and families, Luthercare for Kids is seeking to hire a Float Assistant Teacher aside our Team Members. If you have more than 2,500 hours of experience working with children, this job is for you! Experience working with children does not have to come from a childcare center setting.
We’re currently seeking float assistant teachers to join our team across our two Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Centers. The Assistant Teacher – Float position will involve working between both locations, in Reamstown and Annville, as needed.
We believe that a happy and fulfilled team is key to providing the best possible care, which is why we offer a variety of benefits that promote work-life balance. As a team member, you receive competitive pay, a childcare discount and a daily pay option to ensure that you have access to your hard-earned wages when you need them. We also offer access to the Wellness Center gym/pool at Luther Acres, Luthercare’s senior living community in Lititz; discounts to our Luthercare for Kids childcare centers; and opportunities for career growth, advancement, and continuing education.
WHAT YOU DO:
As an Assistant Teacher with Luthercare for Kids, you’re an integral part of nurturing children and providing a firm foundation for their academic and social growth. You’ll do this in several ways, which include:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, preparing, and conducting engaging, age-appropriate classroom activities.
- Supervise children to ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and enjoyable manner.
- Observe and document the development of the children in your care.
- Build relationships with families and communicate regularly with parents/guardians through various methods such as a mobile app, personal discussions, and written communications. Share children’s achievements and milestones and encourage open communication to address any questions or concerns that may arise. Schedule and attend parent conferences as needed, under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.
- Ensure Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations and Luthercare for Kids policies and procedures are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- More than 2,500 verifiable hours that document experience caring for children (babysitter, nanny, Sunday school teacher, coach, after-school group leader, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to contribute to an atmosphere of positivity and teamwork each day.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or a GED certificate and a valid PA driver’s license.
