General Manager Job Description:

A General Manager is responsible for leading a team, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of restaurant management, and a passion for driving sales while maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

1. Manage daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
2. Supervise and train staff, including conducting employee orientation and ongoing training sessions.
3. Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage.
4. Implement effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent.
5. Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
6. Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
7. Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and growth.

Skills

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent restaurant management experience
3. Communication in English. Fundamental requirements include reading, writing, math, POS and MS Excel skills.
4. Previous experience as an Assistant/General Manager in a customer service environment with P&L experience.
5. Strong leadership and coaching skills
6. Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage performance metrics and cost control
7. Proficient in recruiting techniques to build a strong team.
8. Excellent shift management capabilities to ensure smooth store operations.
9. Supervising skills that promote team engagement and accountability.
10. Strong math skills for handling transactions, inventory counts, and financial reporting.
11. Strong communication skills
12. Self-motivated and action-oriented
13. Willing to admit when you make a mistake, take accountability and learn from it
14. Prompt attendance on assigned shifts- dependable and reliable
15. Must have reliable transportation
16. Must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts including weekend, evenings and holidays.
17. Must be available to work a minimum of 45 hours weekly.
18. Physical Requirements: Lift, move, carry and stack cartons up to 50 lbs from various heights and positions. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Frequent exposure to various temperatures in areas such as a cooler/freezer as well as back of house grill areas.
