Key Responsibilities

1. Provide Phase I recovery care for post-surgical patients emerging from anesthesia.
2. Monitor vital signs, airway patency, and neurological status, ensuring patient stability.
3. Administer medications for pain, nausea, and other postoperative needs.
4. Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to manage patient recovery plans.
5. Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge, providing necessary education and instructions.​

Qualifications

1. Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
2. Minimum of one year of experience in a PACU or critical care setting, with Phase I recovery experience required.
3. Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
4. Strong assessment skills and the ability to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.​
