Location: Corporate Office – Cullman, Alabama
About the Role:
The Corporate Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in supporting our Alabama locations within our multi-state payroll operations, ensuring team members across all facilities are paid accurately and on time. You will be part of a collaborative finance team at our New Jersey corporate office, supporting both field and corporate-level staff in the Alabama locations while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and audit bi-weekly payroll for multiple locations
- Maintain and update employee payroll records and deductions
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and facility leadership
- Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams on benefits, compensation changes, and tax adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Support audits and reporting requests with accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintain payroll system updates, including new hires, terminations, and role changes
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a payroll processing role, preferably in a multi-location or healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Suite
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Experience with union payroll and timekeeping systems is a plus
